Many cat owners choose to sterilize their kittens around 6 months of age. Within 48 hours of the procedure, your kitten’s metabolism slows down, but their appetite may remain just as strong. Since your sterilized kitten’s activity levels continue to rise, they require a food that promotes healthy growth while preventing unnecessary weight gain. ROYAL CANIN® Sterilised Kitten is specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of sterilized kittens in the “consolidation phase” of growth, suitable for kittens aged 6 to 12 months during a time of significant physical and behavioral changes.

This specially designed formula has a moderate fat content to help manage weight gain, while providing optimal levels of protein, calcium, and phosphorus to support healthy development. It also includes vitamins C and E to aid in the development of a strong immune system. Additionally, ROYAL CANIN® Sterilised Kitten is enriched with DHA omega-3 fatty acids to support brain development and healthy vision.

The formula also contains prebiotics (MOS) and highly digestible proteins to promote a healthy balance of gut flora, supporting digestion. The kibble is tailored for small mouths, and its texture helps provide a mechanical brushing effect to maintain dental health.

As your sterilized kitten approaches 12 months of age, their nutritional needs will change. At this point, you can transition them to ROYAL CANIN® Appetite Control Care, available as either dry kibble or wet food in gravy or jelly.
